Gin, Gin, Gin

GINSAs the seasons change so do our menus here at the Fleece and with the launch of our new Winter Drinks List there are 5 new exciting gins to add to your ‘must try.’

Whether you’re a seasoned gin drinker or just like the look of our giant grand gins we’ve  put together some  notes to help you find a new favourite to fall in love with!

DRY

Williams GB Extra Dry

You may be familiar with the Chase Vodka seen on our bar, well we’ve gone ahead and welcomed the gin to our family! Distilled with Juniper buds and berries, it creates the driest gin possible. Winning the ‘double gold’ and ‘best in class’ at the San Francisco spirits competition, it’s a gin you definitely want to try! With wild botanical infusions as well as nutmeg, liquorice and coriander it’s a dry gin lover’s dream come true. Served with a lemon slice it’s a  classic!

Cotswolds Dry

Distilled in our very own Cotswolds this is a classy take on the classic London dry style gin. Infused with a unique 9 botanical blend, flavours of bayleaf, pepper and local lavender add some spicy notes to this already well-balanced gin. With a crisp citrus and smooth taste it’s delicious on its own or even over ice. This gin’s cloudy nature when mixed with tonic makes it a mysterious pleasure and our Master Barman Alex’s favourite!

PUNCHY

Bathtub Gin

Unlike the 1920s style of homemade amateur spirit that the name reminds you of, Ableforths award-winning Bathtub Gin is a high quality mix of juniper, orange peel, coriander, cinnamon, cloves and cardamon. Lightly tinted by the botanicals infused, this gin holds a bold flavour and when served with orange, is sure to get you going!

Monkey 47

Don’t let this little medicine bottle of gin fool you, being one of the most premium gins on our shelf it definitely packs a punch. From the Black Forest in Germany this gin is made from 47 different botanicals including cranberries. Bottled at 47% it’s definitely not a gin for the faint hearted! With a prominent zesty taste what could go wrong when served with lime?

UNUSUAL

Hayman’s Old Tom

With a family history of gin makers dating back over 150 years Haymans are one of the oldest original distilleries. With a mix of 10 botanicals the hints of citrus and juniper pinery give you a delicious, smooth taste. Rich with a subtle sweetness keeps it true to the original style of English Victorian gin. Served with lemon and lime it’s sure to liven up your palette!

Still can’t decide on a favourite? Why not come in and try them all!
