A Warm Welcome
The Fleece is very popular with business travellers who are looking for a more friendly and convivial place to stay than one of the big chains. The pub is perfectly located for leisure breaks in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds, or a weekend enjoy the tranquillity of Witney. It is also frequently used by people living in and around the town, who book rooms for friends and family when they are hosting special occasions, in the knowledge that their nearest and dearest will be well looked after.
We serve top quality British seasonal food all day and our bar is a lovely place to hang out and watch the world go by with a cup of delicious coffee, a grand gin or a good glass of wine. Our eatery is open all day, serving food from 8am-10pm Monday-Saturday and Sundays 8am-9pm. There’s plenty to do in the beautiful town of Witney, with a trip to Wychwood Brewery being a must, and only a stumble away.
We have a dedicated onsite car park and when it’s full, there is plenty of space around Church Green.
Your room has tea and coffee-making facilities to make you feel right at home. We removed all plastic bottles from our bathrooms earlier in the year, replacing them with a refillable and more eco-friendly aluminium bottle. The mugs we use in the rooms are by Artist, Laura Stoddart, and are available to buy from the reception desk downstairs if you like them as much as we do.
All rooms are equipped with high-spec TVs which double up as radios and we provide reliable free Wi-Fi.
Our rates are always better when you book direct. Check our rooms and availability online, before calling us on 01869 220412 for 15% off. Just quote ‘Direct15’.

Relax, you can trust in us
We want you to feel as relaxed as possible in our pub. Safety has always been important to us, and now even more so than ever. There are several new ways we have adjusted to maintain both yours and our team’s health whilst you stay with us, ensuring we comply with Government guidelines. Just click here to see our Covid-19 procedure. As we obey the new 11pm curfew, we are unfortunately no longer able to serve past 10pm. To make sure we serve lots of the good stuff to all guests, we strongly encourage guests to talk to us about booking a table, either for dining, drinks or both, and encouraging earlier sittings, where possible. Guests are always welcome to take a nightcap, or bottle back to their room.
Guests are all also reminded that face coverings are mandatory when inside the pub, and not seated at your table. If you do not have a face mask, please let us know and we can offer you a disposable one.
